Preferably with flowering trees and a mountain backdrop? Then this is just the thing for you: www.quick-garden.co.uk/log-cabin-house-bordeaux-2-storey-6m-x-11m-20x36-ft-66-mm.html

I'm not sure what one does about water or plumbing or electricity but I don't care, I think it's lovely Grin

It is lovely but would need PP and as such would need utility services.

Nonestopcaberet · 17/05/2020 13:39

Lovely.
I have 5 acres of land and would love to put something like this on it, so we could live there.
We have tried to get planning permission to have a log cabin, but been told there is no chance.
Only way round it, is to build an agricultural building, for keeping equipment in, not animals, and then in around 15 years apply for pp to convert to a dwelling.
Madness.

RainMustFall · 17/05/2020 14:01

Too logical TARSCOUT just go with the fantasy Smile

Oh what a shame Nonestopcaberet are you young enough and patient enough to put up a cheapo structure, wait 15 years and then build what you want? Either way, how lovely to own some land - I suppose you can camp in the meantime.

Oops sorry thought it was a real question Grin.

In that case I'm ordering it!!

fuckinghellthisshit · 17/05/2020 14:08

I couldn't afford one if these but we built our own. No indoor plumbing and no op required. Dc are living in it atm 😂

SurfnTerfFantasticmissfoxy · 17/05/2020 14:09

That's..... fairly hideous.

RainMustFall · 17/05/2020 14:15

Oh no! Show us what you like then Surfn

OP posts:
GunungBatur · 17/05/2020 14:44

I can't decide if it's lovely or hideous.
I'm going to go for kitsch, different, or unusual!

QuestionableMouse · 17/05/2020 14:45

I'm pretty sure that's bigger then my actual house.

QuestionableMouse · 17/05/2020 14:46

Than ffs.

Frozade · 17/05/2020 14:47

I was desperate for this wood cabin house a couple of years ago when we were house hunting but couldn't persuade DH Grin www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-66137713.html

Devlesko · 17/05/2020 14:48

You'd need planning permission though.

bluefoxmug · 17/05/2020 14:48

no floorplan or internal pictures. pah.

Xenia · 17/05/2020 14:56

Yes, in the UK the only issue that matters is planning permission which most people will not obtain which is why there is a huge difference between the price of land with permission granted to build and those without. That is not the case everywhere in the world however including some US states.

Also the material used will vary from place to place - when I had one room built on my 20 acre island in Panama my builder chose concrete blocks but nicely painted over because the termites there eat wood for breakfast and anything wooden would not have lasted long.
Wood can also burn down anywhere so might not be the best material.

If I had a view I'd want something with lots of glass rather than teeny wee windows - something like this
