We are having a "New York" themed evening. What shall I wear??

Will there be a sub-theme like ‘in the 80s’? If not I would go seriously glam. How are you set for a black dress and sequins?

I was originally thinking glam black dress Samantha Jones style but I now look like a pudding in all my nice dresses and can't do the zips up!

I’d still go as SATC but maybe just channel Carrie with a bit of everything but make it chic?
