If you’re willing to share, what would you do?

What do you want to do? And can you develop a business plan that makes the most of the skills you have with that investment?

Dh started a business with about that much 7 years ago. He does a traditional rural craft that most people nowadays consider more of a hobby. He used it to buy some secondhand tools, raw materials, invest in a bit of training, and hire a small workshop. He’s turning over about £80,000 profit now and has some well known celebrity clients, been featured on a few tv shows.

But having a solid business plan, with low overheads and really good marketing skills was key. I would say at the moment having something else to fall back on, a full or part time job, a partner’s income, etc is important though. It’s a rough time to be self employed even when your business is otherwise doing well.
