Has anyone booked a UK holiday after cancelling one abroad?

I've had to accept that our August holiday will not go ahead so I've decided to book us a week self-catering about an hours drive from home. Fingers crossed we can go. (If not it is fully refundable). I'm not bothered if restaurants and major tourist attractions are shut but it would be nice to have a drive along the coast, go for a walk and buy ice cream or a bag of chips or have a picnic on the beach.

I've just booked a week by the coast in the UK. I booked an airbnb, i only looked at ones that were cancellable up to 2 weeks before we go. I really want something to look forward to.

Me, booked two in fact. Both nothing to pay upfront and free cancellation up to the day before we go.

I really need a break.

We already have 2 uk breaks, going to Skegness and straight over to Blackpool. We are thinking of cancelling, our holiday is mid July so it’s very close to the possible end of lockdown but DS who is autistic is very very anxious, we are worried that some of his favourite places won’t be opened or available and he’s cautious about catching the virus. We really didn’t want to cancel it as we didn’t thing this situation would go on this long but both places have told us we can cancel for a free refund, we might just postpone and do it next year.
