What do your 10 year old boys want for birthday gifts?

My ds is going to be 10 soon (double digits! 😭) and I’m stuck for gift ideas. He doesn’t really play with toys as such now and is obsessed with fortnite, but I don’t want to give v bucks as a gift.

What would your 10 year old like if it was their birthday?

My DS had his 10th birthday a few days ago. He’s obsessed with Wrestling so he got loads of WWE stuff, x box games, football boots, football/WWE posters for his bedroom. WWE duvet cover and a new goal for the garden.

Hydraulic robot arm? DS2 got one for Christmas 2018 (he was 9 then) and he still says it was the greatest present ever! It was challenging but he found it really satisfying to push through and see the end result

My DGS is 10 soon. I’ve got him a Real Madrid football kit and football. He loves books by Tom Gates, Lego and would love a dog. He’s not getting a dog.

My ds is older now, but based on what you said (hopefully the links work):

nerf gun with moving targets

fortnite pyjamas

skateboard (get knee + elbow pads and a crash helmet too, but it will give him something to do in lockdown)

I’ve also got him some clothes as that’s what he likes too. Just casual and comfy stuff.

I have a dd but she's turning ten in a couple of weeks. After asking for ages, we've given in and she'll get a phone for her birthday.

Do you have a garden? Something for outside like swingball?

For Christmas he got a mobile, did want to wait until he was 11 really, but had got a free sim with a recent upgrade tv package so thought we'd make good use of it!

He likes Tom Gates books, diary of a wimpy kids and the David Walliams books.

I think we'll be getting a gaming chair for him this year.

My DS has quite specific hobbies, so probably not helpful not give those ideas, but also generally likes sport things to get him in the garden.

On-screen, do you think he would like coding? A subscription to a good coding app? My son uses Hopscotch at the moment to make his own simple games.
