What are your 5 yr olds favourite toys?

Ds1 is 5 in a couple of months and I don't really know what to get for him. There are a couple of things that he wants, which I will get, but otherwise I don't really know. Family are asking what he'd like. So I'm just looking for ideas really. He has a 3.5 yr old sibling so things that can be played with together are fine, but also things just for him.

Thanks.

Straws with connectors that you can build anything with.

Wooden marble runs, so much easier to build for them than the plastic type.

Dobble is a must.

Garden toys, including mini tools.

Quercetti toys, like tubations and the cogs.

My ds has just turned 5..he loves his lego, trucks, board games such as frustration and orchard toys ones. He also enjoys his bike and scooter. Knex is also fun although not his favourite.

Lego, Lego, lego (if he's not used to it, then for your sanity get something from the juniors set)

Marble run
Playmobil
Brio

Playmobil

DD is 6 soon and this will be third birthday in a row she’s got playmobil. She especially loves the aquarium

Hot wheels were a massive hit here last Christmas with my 5 year old DD, her little sister who is two loves playing too. Lego is alway a winner, and at 5 my DD started getting more into games-Dobble, Uno and junior monopoly are all played often.

Unfortunately, probably the Nintendo Switch
She still likes Paw Patrol. Also, Sylvanian Families, Junior Monopoly, Dobble, Guess Who

Magic tracks is probably the most played with toy we have. We got the smyths toys own set versions though. There's a few slightly different sets, we have them all, the only one that doesn't work well is the loop one. That seems to cause endless frustration so we leave the loop bit of it off.

bakingcupcakes · 13/05/2020 19:05

We also have lots of lego.

Thanks, sone good ideas here. I think a new lego set will go down well, and a board game. We have a wooden marble run , loads of outdoor toys. I got a second hand magic track, it was a bit of a 5 minute wonder. We have a tablet, but theres not much interest in it atm .
