Getting a good picture with a baby monitor camera.

Does anyone have any tips for getting a good picture with a baby monitor camera please?

My child is already 2 and we still have never been able to get a decent picture of the whole cot so we can see her wherever she rolls. We have a clamp for the camera and it's current attached about 1 metre about the mattress slightly to the side. Usually the picture is her feet or part of her face or the empty part of the mattress.

Thank you.

I have no experience with baby cameras specifically but many cheap monitoring cameras have movement detection and move to focus on whatever is moving and/or allow you to control the camera direction with a phone.

Surely you just need to be further away?

Ours is on the opposite side of the (admittedly small) room, it's on the window sill and gives a view of the whole cot

Thank you for the replies.

@Spam88 you would think so but I am obviously missing something obvious here because that doesn't work either!

We attached the camera to the curtain rail. You don't get much details at that distance, but enough to see if the child is sitting up etc.

Ours is on top of the wardrobe.

Ours used to be on top of a chest of drawers so kind of looking down into the cot. Agree with putting it the other side of the room if needed, you don't need to see detail, their little eyes glow like something out of a horror film if they're open anyway.
