Question for anyone who knows how to make a blind/curtains

A bit of a random question for anyone who makes curtains / blinds. Could I have a Roman blind made from a duvet cover or would the fabric be too thin? I’ve been searching for weeks for an oversized leaf print blind fabric and this is the closest match I’ve found. It’s for a bathroom window so is more for show than regular use but the window is wide which means double the amount of fabric / sewing which is bumping the cost up to £500-600 to have it made. I’d rather avoid paying that much if I can.

This is the one I’m thinking of if it helps.

You could make it/have it made with a lining if you feel the fabric is too thin.

Well I suppose it has the advantage of being washable! Too many soft furnishing fabrics are not (Laura Ashley - yes you!)
I would suggest that you line it though. You can get double width lining.

Have you looked on ebay?
Theres a big leaf print Ikea fabric on there for starters..

Yes I’d definitely have it lined to give it some weight just wasn’t sure if that would be enough (the extent of my sewing skills I’d seeing a button back on!)

Oh and i've used it before (commission) for a huge window, so can say it's a good weight.
