Does anyone use a really long charger cable for IPhone/iPad?

If so can you recommend yours? I’m on my fourth Belkin 10 ft cable. Each one has broken in a different way within a year. They have lifelong warranties but I’m fed up of the process of sending copy receipts, photos of the broken cable and waiting for a new one to arrive. Do any of you use any other make and are they fairly long-lasting? Thanks

Amazon’s basic range are fab. Not sure if they are quite that long, I think mine are 5m but bought them a while ago

Ditto amazon basics. I have a 3m USB c cable that's brilliant. Also have a 2m micro USB cable that's held up to constant use.

Thanks dochas06 . I’ll go take a look. I do need a long one due to where the sockets are.

I've got an Amazon Basics one, it's really sturdy!

Tailsoftheunexpected · 11/05/2020 17:11

Questionable a 3m would be great as that’s the length of the Belkin.

Another vote for Amazon basics although being honest none of the long ones I’ve ever had seem to last that well.

We use an Apple charger and a 6m extension, might try the amazon cable instead.

CupoTeap · 11/05/2020 17:14

Came on to say amazon basics

2007Millie · 11/05/2020 17:15

Amazon basics

AtleastitsnotMonday · 11/05/2020 17:16

Anker 3m I’ve got through tens of others but finally replaced them with Anker about a year ago and no problem since.

Allnamesaregone · 11/05/2020 17:16

We use Anker ones.

catgotyourtongue · 11/05/2020 17:31

We use Anker and they've lasted longer than the genuine Apple charger that came with it!

Tailsoftheunexpected · 11/05/2020 17:33

Thanks everybody. I’ve ordered an Amazon Basics 3m one. The Belkin looks the business but if I get a year out of them it’s pushing it and they’re really expensive.

I bought a Juice one at WH Smith in an emergency or I would never have paid £17 for it. But now I have it, it's worth the money - it's really long and wrapped in braid so it's much sturdier and has already outlasted some of the short white apple brand cables.

Rockbird · 11/05/2020 17:41

Amazon basics or Anker. I prefer the braided ones but tbh none of them last particularly long. I'm happy if I get 12 months out of one. I don't know why I'm so hard on them, I only plug them in!

EatsShootsAndRuns · 11/05/2020 17:48

Mine is tagged UNBREAKcable which I think I bought from Amazon. It's a braided cable and I've had it ages.

Likethebattle · 11/05/2020 18:13

Always use the braided amazon cables. 4 years and still going and cost about £10.

FabulouslyElegantTits · 11/05/2020 18:26

We go through cables at about 1 a week in this house! 😡 May try the amazon basics

TheHighestSardine · 11/05/2020 18:28

I've just broken my Amazon Basics 2m for the sofa that has been in constant use for about three years - the cable sheath has drawn back from the phone end plug. I've got a 3m one that I use for bedside that's going fine, but it gets much less abuse.

QuestionableMouse · 11/05/2020 19:16

I've had two anker ones and both were faulty!

Likethebattle · 11/05/2020 21:37

@FabulouslyElegantTits this is the one I have. 4years and still going.

TheChosenTwo · 11/05/2020 21:43

Oh my god, I thought it was just our family who went through these at such great speed!
I’ve gradually started replacing with with the anker ones (I have some of their portable usb chargers anyway and really rate them) because I was fed up with the crappy cheap ones not lasting. Also, just a terrible waste of resources. Better to spend that bit more (okay it’s actually quite a lot more) and have something more durable and built to last.

Sexykitten2005 · 11/05/2020 22:16

I’ve got the iLuv set from amazon. Three cables all braided and all have lasted for years now. Well worth the money

Simonfromharlow · 11/05/2020 22:17

Yes. I use the amazon basic braided ones. So good!

kitk · 11/05/2020 22:19

I use amazon basics- they're great!
