Have you ever been approached with business offers through Instagram?

I've recently set up a fitness business which I'm obviously running online to a degree. I have a new Instagram page and I've had a few messages offering business/collaboration opportunity.

Might be pie in the sky stuff but wondered if anyone has experience of this?

They are probably trying to sell you a franchise. Keep your eyes wide open. If it seems too good to be true etc.

Yes me. I have a fairly hefty following as my professional persona. Not a stealth brag, numbers on social media are meaningless. My audience are very engaged which is what brands are interested in.

There are things to watch out for but if it's a legit brand there's no harm in asking what they're offering. If you're not interested you can simply say no thanks.

They will likely ask you to buy products from them with a discount and then ask you to advertise them on your instagram page. If they do that then they're scamming you. Legitimate companies will offer you products for free but they only do that if they think it's worthwhile - if you have a very large following with lots of interaction on your page.

It's likely what waxon described above. So many people fall for it. Anyone I've ever worked with on Instagram has emailed me directly and then followed by contacts etc
