What’s everyone up to in your house today?

Extremely lazy start to the day here. DS (4) watching CBeebies. DD (7) reading. She’s the only one dressed, DH and I have got up and fed the children and retreated back to bed with coffee. We’re about to have an amicable argument about whose turn it is to do the weekly shop (it’s blatantly his).

At some point we will be making birthday cards for my DM, going to the allotment, and probably some general pottering about and chores. I’m hoping DH will cook a roast later.

How about the rest of you?

Lazy day here too I think. The girls had a late one last night so are still sleeping.

I'm expecting a plumber shortly to have a look at my leaky bathroom so I'm up and dressed.

No idea what to do with the day yet other than paint a door frame & wash last night's pots. Oh, I'll bring my books back down actually. Probably not much else tbh.

You can get a plumber out during lockdown??

I am still in bed because when I get up I have to stand in the rain in a supermarket queue and then Do the ironing feed five people mop the floors because the dog is on heat cook for five wash up for five and then press the Groundhog Day button for tomorrow.

Lacking motivation today . Currently sat on sofa , dd2 on her tablet and dd1 somewhere upstairs learning dances . Going to try go on a walk soon as meant fo be very windy later . Then might just watch films or something this afternoon .

@CafetiereCoffee yes, thankfully you can. We can be in the kitchen, he can go straight upstairs & be left alone then can talk from door to end of drive or over phone & I can bleach bathroom when he's gone.

It's either that or it gets worse (it's been 'fixed' four times already & has started raining on the stairs again).

Well we were all meeting at the park for dil’s birthday but weather looks a bit glum so that will probably be called off now.
Shame,we were enjoying the nice weather and getting out abit more

Got up and made bread to have with soup for lunch. DH and DS are at work at the moment (supermarket home shopping). DD1 is sewing masks for the whole family. DD2 is ill in bed. DD2's fiance (living with us for lockdown) is working on uni assignments.

After lunch DH and I will go to the allotment to put cloches on the tender plants (possibility of frost). After that I will go and hide in my shed and start a fresh batch of wine.

DD2's fiance is making beef wellington for dinner.

Dh has cleaned the kitchen and the bathroom which I feel a bit guilty about as I have been browsing clothes online and ignoring the dcs who are dropping balls down the stairs to see if they bounce. It's a bit noisy but they are occupied and going down and back up to retrieve them will tire them out a bit!

hiredandsqueak · 10/05/2020 10:24

Only me up here. Checking the weather to see if I will get wet when I take the dog out for a walk. She obviously believes there is rain about as she hasn't got out of bed.
Going to mix some batter for pancakes as that's what dd asked for when she went to bed and later on plan to make some cookies and a madeira cake.
Other than that will do a general clean downstairs, have a long soak in the bath and do some reading I think.

Lazy morning here.

I'm reading in bed with a cup of tea.

Will do a wash, potter in the garden for a bit, finish off the distance learning from last week with DD, cook pork and prepare a couple of salads to go with it.

Sunday night is Killing Eve night.

DC are watching videos of people playing minecraft on tv in their pyjamas, DH is still in bed. I have got dressed, need to wash up because the dishwasher didn't wash any cups again and I have used the only clean ones, sort the washing out, try and think of some way to persuade DC to turn off the tv and do something that isn't looking at screens. Am working a night shift tonight.
