Hello, I live in England Im 21 and currently on a gap year, I will be going back for my final 18 months to finish my degree and in the meantime have been learning german language. I am also a descendant of irish immigrants and have been applying for a passport. I just do not like the country the UK has become after lockdown and even before that felt I wanted to live elsewhere and was disatisfied. I do have a longterm boyfriend of 4 years in the uk but on short stints abroad he seems fine and I think he would move with if long term. I am genuiny planning on a permanent move eventually to any country - I will happily learn the language. I just wanted any positive or negative opinions and statements that might sway me affirmly either way. Thankyou, C.

Hello.
We are in the same boat. Mulling over a big move to NZ in the next year. The uk seems in a really unhappy trajectory at the moment. DH is on furlough with redundancy on the cards before the Autumn. The dc's are either bouncing off the wall in boredom or getting way too into endless screen time while I.am working from home... It is my family, job and the kids wonderful schools that give us pause at the moment...
I am interested to hear other opinions too.

Can you go for a year and see if you like it? At your age my sister spent 2 years in New Zealand before deciding she did actually want to come back to the UK and finish her degree. She's now happily living in the UK. If you're already living in an EU country when we leave the EU, you'll be able to stay. Do you have any money behind you?
