Can you make scones with plain flour and baking powder

Only have plain flour I know you can add baking powder to SR flour but not sure if scones will turn out any good

Yes, absolutely. I never use SR flour and don't really see the point of it.

Yes! You can do anything with plain flour and baking powder/soda rather than SR flour.

Yes, it is 2tsp baking powder per 150g plain flour.

Yes. SR flour is just plain flour which has been ready mixed with baking powder.

I did not know that! This is great because I have a large tub of plain flour that needs used up. I ripped the bag. But so much stuff calls for SR flour.

Also baking powder is just bicarbonate and cream of tartar. I’ve not been able to get baking powder in my online shop but plenty of bicarbonate and cream of tartar so making my own.
