After school childcare for Altrincham Girls Grammar School

Hi.

My daughter starts in AGGS in September this year. We live in Flixton, about 5 miles from the school and we wouldn’t be able to pick her up before 6 p.m. and I myself don’t drive. She is not yet ready to make that journey on her own. Does AGGS have after school clubs until that time or are there any childcare providers very close to the school or at least within walking distance of Altrincham metrolink station where she could stay before we pick her up? Thanks in advance for your replies.

Not sure if anyone will reply but what we used to do was hire someone from 3 - 6pm each day so they would collect the children and bring them back here home and look after them until 6. Later my twins did have an after school club at ther private school until 6pm we sometimes used although they preferred to get home with the person looking after them at our house by preference.

We advertised and got 50 people keen to do those short hours 3 - 6.

The school might have a library she can sit in, probably not till 6 though. Maybe after school clubs on some evenings. Alternatively Altrincham library is close by - she could go and do her work there. You will find however that the tram is full of girls going that way - she should very quickly get used to travelling herself. Maybe asking the school if there are any older girls she can be paired up with until she finds her group of friends?

I went to Loreto but loads of kids got the school bus to flixton - worth looking if there’s something similar?
