60th on 2 weeks. Ive thought about:

Order balloons online and cards.
Will do a special breakfast hoperully can sit outside
Make a cake or buy one on weekly shop
Get family to Facetime him
Presents I think we agreed to hold off

Just me, him and DS ...not sure what else I can do

It's my birthday tomorrow. If anyone comes up with any genius ideas I'll let you know!

MsAwesomeDragon · 09/05/2020 11:47

It's my birthday today. So far I've had breakfast in bed.
There will (hopefully) be cards and presents once my children decide to grace is with their presence (both hibernating in their bedrooms at the moment, as usual).
Then we're having a takeaway for dinner, Indian, because that's what I fancy, and dust children can just have chips!!

It is my husband's 50th in June and I'm really struggling with ideas too. I had bought some concert tickets for his birthday present but that has now been rescheduled to 2021! We don't have many people around us so want to try and make it a special day.

TARSCOUT · 09/05/2020 11:53

DP 54 on 22nd. Not special date but we always go out. Have ordered card online and will make a trifle ( he loves it). Dinner will be delivered from our favourite italian and we'll hopefully outside.

Oh please make a cake. Shop bought cakes are nowhere as nice tasting as home made.

Drivingdownthe101 · 09/05/2020 13:45

It was my mums 60th last week. She lives alone so it was tough to make it fun for her.
We baked a cake and made her a platter of typical party food and took it to her house (she lives round the corner). Hung balloons up and left the cake, food and presents on her doorstep then retreated to the end of the drive and rang the bell! We sang happy birthday while she blew out her candles then we watched her open her presents. The DC made her some vouchers for things we’d do after lockdown... a girls night away etc. DC are young so she’s happy with things they make!

Brilliant Driving...
Ok I will make a carrot cake his fave

It's my dh birthday soon too
I've bought some scallops and cod online from the fish society, going to make him dinner and he has a cake being delivered as well. Plus lots of presents

ProseccoSupernova · 09/05/2020 14:55

An exciting trip to the tip or the garden centre! Or go all out and do both! 😉

Ginfordinner · 09/05/2020 15:01

Aren't garden centres closed just now?

FizzyPink · 09/05/2020 15:05

It was my birthday at the start of lockdown and what was really nice was that friends has made the effort to send cards and flowers. Do you have wider family that you could do some sort of quiz via zoom with in the evening? One of my friends hosted a wine tasting the other night and we all ordered the same wine through Wineapp and that was great

iklboo · 09/05/2020 15:09

I've ordered stuff I know DH will like online. Got a cake mix kit coming for DS to bake for him, banners, candies etc. Moonpig personalised cards. Our favourite Italian restaurant is open for collection only so we'll have that with some nice wine. I've got him a bottle of whisky to enjoy. He's not bothered about seeing family face to face - a phone call / text will be fine.

RosieCockle · 09/05/2020 15:13

For my husband's birthday in April, I contacted friends and family, even his boss, and asked if they would record a video message. I said even three seconds would do. Managed to get a great selection of short, long, singing, silly, serious clips, stuck them together on my laptop and uploaded to YouTube. He loved it, and was really touched with the video because he hadn't been contact with some of the people for a while.

ProseccoSupernova · 09/05/2020 15:19

Ginfordinner allegedly they are opening this week, so perfect timing for OP’s OH’s birthday celebrations!

Overseasmom100 · 09/05/2020 15:30

We said wouldnt bother with presents as I'd have to scroll through the internet and think would just end up buying 'stuff' for the sake of it. Think balloons cards nice breakfast box of beer and fave Indian food from fave restaurant he would like

If you are ordering anything do it ASAP, balloons etc came after my ds birthday, I also ordered a caterpillar cake in with my Asda order and it came upside down and stale, thankfully ds was 15 and thought it looked hilarious!

pussycatinboots · 09/05/2020 16:06

Bargainhuntbore · 09/05/2020 17:03

My friends daughter was 18 last week and they had afternoon tea in the garden with prosecco. Photos were lively! Bunting etc
