Nice food for birthday meal

It's my birthday this week and I can't decid what to do for food. There is a restaurant near me doing freezer food which I quite fancied but then when I thought logicallly about the price I could get a nice ready meal from the supermarket and have ££££ left. Or are there any other options I haven't thought of, just want something a bit special and different not just a takeaway if that makes sense.

Can you get to a Waitrose or M&S food shop?
They have decent ready meals, or a selection of tapas bits?

Maybe have some English asparagus as a starter, it’s in season at the moment. Simple to cook, and serve with melted butter or mayonnaise.

What kind of thing do you like? Do you have a nice deli near by?

Would you normally have gone out for your birthday and spent the same as the take away? If so, why not just go for it. Obviously not the same as dinner out but hopefully will still be delicious food.

We would normally go out. I'm going to look what this weeks menu choices are for the takeaway. Also try and find out if any other places are doing the same.

It’s my birthday next week and we’ve got a supermarket shop being delivered on the day. We did discuss takeaway, but in the end I decided what rocked my world most was a nice bottle of wine, antipasti including fresh baked bread and this (which we usually do on Boxing Day and usually share with a lot more than two of us!

We are going to order a take out for DH's birthday soon but yes, it's going to cost £££. Moroccan if that helps.
