If so, what did you use in terms of supplement etc.? I don't mean thick hair but long hair (up to butt)

If you cant genetically grow hair long then you cant do it no ammount of suppliments will help.

If you mean you have brittle easily breakable hair thats slow growing then biotin suppliments getting the right nutrients in your diet, scalp massage and keeping your hair very moisturised and snipping off split ends will help.

Ive seen somethong online that says hanging your head upside down for 4 minutes a day and massaging your scalp is supposed to cause stimulating blood flow. Look into it as im going to look into it more before trying it.

I highly doubt it. Just get good extensions.

There are few things more horrific than super-long hair. Makes me nauseous - straggly split ends, weird women who think they're princesses....

I agree. It's disgusting. We should all have to chose from a few state sanctioned styles like they do in North Korea.

Bloody people, liking different things.

You either can or you can’t.

indemMUND · 09/05/2020 23:11

Nope. I can get mine to just above my bum but the ends go straggly and awfully split, won't go any further. Has to be cut to my elbows to sit nicely. DD can sit on her thick bouncy, wavy hair and I'm jealous.

PickAChew · 09/05/2020 23:13

Isn't hair that long just heavy and hot?

returnofthemollymawks · 09/05/2020 23:25

Mine is waist length now, so is my Dd's, Ds's has got to shoulder length now as he's growing it. We all have thick ginger hair, no supplements needed. We eat a healthy ish diet and wash it weekly.

I"m not sure you can, but if you give it enough TLC it can grow to its fullest potential (whatever length that may be). Often our hair isn't growing to its best length or thickness due to stress/diet/lifestyle factors.

My hair at its longest was down to my elbows (long for me). When I hit my 40s it got really straggly and broken and I thought it wouldn't grow any more. I thought it was perimenopause and that was it for me. (It probably was P, at least partly). I have frizzy, wavy hair and I started following the curly girl method which has improved its health no end. I use oils and rice water regularly, avoid sulfates, take vitamins, micro-trim/dust every month, moisturise the ends every day, and my hair has grown back thicker and the damage has pretty much all gone. So even though I'm peri, a bit of TLC has made a huge difference. Even if you don't have curly/wavy hair a lot of these tips will still benefit you. It's trial and error though.

Check out the Long Hair Community forum, people there are obsessed with hair and there are loads of good tips!

Unfortunately before lockdown I chopped it into a bob - now I want it long again. Arrrggh!

Respectfully disagree. The worst thing is the short, stubbly hairstyle women over a certain age adopt because they think it's "appropriate" and makes them look younger. It doesn't. nothing makes you look older than that stubby old woman haircut that you think is stylish. Give me long hair any day!
