It's been two years since I watched the entire Breaking Bad series

Yes, yes I was late to the party as usual

And i just finished the latest Better Call Saul series.

So, I'm very tempted to do BB again but don't want to discover it's not as fabulous at I remember it to be.
I did the same with the Walking Dead to, btw. Found it last summer, binge watched it all and very recently watched the whole lot again - I love it.

Shall I? I haven't got a mind of my own, obviously.

Do it! We rewatch it every couple of years or so.

LizzieLoafer · 06/05/2020 18:36

Definitely! I've done Breaking Bad three times now.

Even though you know what's coming you still get the same thrill (Hank in the car parkShock)

Might start it again myself.

I never watched this series. Can anyone explain why it’s so great. I’ve heard lots of people raving about it. Is it funny, or is it the storyline, the acting? What’s so great about it?

Pretty much all of the above @Smartanimal

captainprincess · 06/05/2020 18:47

I have re watched it many times and it's still awesome!! Do it immediately Grin

wonkytonkwoman · 06/05/2020 18:52

@Smartanimal - it's got EVERYTHING going for it.

I asked the same thing as you when it was current and someone said it was the story of this pretty boring cash-strapped chemistry teacher who gets a cancer diagnosis, and the only way to secure a future beyone his death for his wife and family is to find a way to make and sell crystal meth.

I thought it sounded a bit meh, so didn't bother. Until I decided to give it a go and by the end of the second episode I was honestly hooked.
I'd give it the first two episodes and see what you think.
And I just talked myself back into it so that was easy Grin

I'm the same about that other one everyone raves about Game of Thrones. I keep thinking I'll hate it.

Best thing I have ever watched. Nothing has even come close.

We have re-watched with our son. I wish I could erase the whole thing from my brain and watch it again.

StewPots · 06/05/2020 18:56

I rewatch it every year 🙈 IMO the finest TV show ever made but I appreciate others may find that controversial!

amusedbush · 06/05/2020 18:59

@LizzieLoafer

YES, I recently rewatched and Hank in the car park had me sweating all over again!

I really love Better Call Saul though. I was sceptical when I first heard about a spin off but it’s brilliant.

HannaSong · 06/05/2020 18:59

Do it! It's even better on second viewing

ijustneedasleep · 06/05/2020 19:00

Absolutely do it!
I rewatched it recently and it's still incredible. I'd rewatch it again already

FFSFFSFFS · 06/05/2020 19:01

I rewatched it at the start of lockdown. Just as good as the first time

wonkytonkwoman · 06/05/2020 19:02

All the wisdom's on MN.

I'm going in.......

TheCatsWhisker · 06/05/2020 19:04

Absolutely do it, I've watched 3 times now.

Also, read the IMBD trivia for each episode. It gives loads of info and symbolic (things?) that I didn't pick up on the first time.

isthismylifenow · 06/05/2020 19:06

Talk about behind the times, I have only just watched it for the first time Smile. I'm gutted it's finished. I watched the Camino movie and just the first one of Better call Saul. I'm not sure about it though, might have to watch a few more to decide.

Sparklfairy · 06/05/2020 19:09

I watched it again a couple of months ago, but it's the first time I've actually properly watched it! First time watched with my housemate, but he was midway through season 4 I think and would watch episodes whether I was there or not so I had no idea what was going on.

Second time, different housemate. Decided to watch it from the start. While drinking heavily through every episode Hmm Lots of gaps!

So, when watching for the third time, I got to see it for the first time Grin It's really really good. I also love Better Call Saul. Sad that next season is it's last and it'll be delayed because of Covid-19 Sad

LisaSimpsonsbff · 06/05/2020 19:11

Ahhh, you've made me want to rewatch it too!

Controversially, I actually think BCS is even better.

ExclamationPerfume · 06/05/2020 19:13

I never got into it. I watched the first 15 episodes and thought it was rubbish.

Womanlywiles · 06/05/2020 19:13

I thought BB was very good but in the end I had to switch it off as the relentlessness of the younger character's self-destruction was grinding me down. I just found I couldn't watch anymore, it became so dark. It would definitely not be something I would watch during a lock down. If you want something emotionally intense (including well filmed realistic sex scenes) Normal People on Hulu is very good.

Womanlywiles · 06/05/2020 19:14

You could also watch The Sopranos from the beginning if you like crime dramas.

wonkytonkwoman · 06/05/2020 19:17

Sopranos yes!!! I never did see it all.

OP posts:
WhatsHappeningCaroleBaskin · 06/05/2020 20:34

I've watched at least 3 times, I loved Better Call Saul too.
Have you watched El Camino?

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 06/05/2020 20:36

I couldn't watch the Sopranos. It was the cruelty.

wonkytonkwoman · 06/05/2020 21:10

Yes I did, I saw the short film of the making of El Camino the other night as well. I found El Camino pretty hard to watch though, I don't think I recovered from what happened to Hank who now keeps popping up in BCS. I've just watched two episodes of BB first series. Jessie looks so young!!

Actually I think it was the cruelty that made me stop watching The Sopranos.

OP posts:
Helmlover1 · 06/05/2020 21:23

We re-watched BB not long ago and thought it was just as good as the first time we watched it. Also planning on re-watching the Sopranos soon too! Have you ever seen The Wire?
