Does the mouse find his way home??

This is what lock down is doing to my thoughts!

Our cat brings a mouse in most nights. He brings it through the cat flap, drops it whilst it's still alive then just watches us running around trying to catch it 🤦🏼‍♀️
We always put said mouse outside at the top of our garden (lots of fields around us) and mouse scurries off.
But, I was thinking... Does the mouse ever get back to his family?? Or does he join a new one?! 🤔
Any thoughts?? ☺️

Field mice range only a few yards foraging under normal conditions, with a family territory of quarter of an acre or so... there's probably a thriving community of dislocated mice at the top of your garden! Hopefully the cats are sampling from them, but cats range can be a mile or more.

Our cat disappears for hours then brings a mouse in. He never kills them, just drops them so they usually run under the fridge or sofa 😱
I like the thought of a little refuge of them at the top of the garden!
