Dirty Fries

I like eating out and I'm on a quest to keep cooking at home what I like to order when out. Any top tips on cooking some dirty fries? How do you have them at home quite as filthy as the really good burger places? Not sure on seasoning etc.

I'll be good and wont have the burger too I promise 🙏

Pic for example, not ones I've made!

I want to make nachos now. Into a baking dish put:

Cool Doritos (one large bagful)
Jar of salsa
LOADS of grated mature cheddar
Some grated chilli cheese.

Bake in the oven till cheese is really melted. Chuck loads of sour cream all over it. Some jalapeños (jally-pee-nee-ohs as BIL3 calls them) if you like.

Eat straight out of the baking dish making sure you have a small plate and loads of kitchen roll handy.

Vietnamese loaded fries (obvs not authentic)

Oven fries done in air fryer.
Crushed peanuts
Chopped coriander.
Sushi ginger.
Hoi sin sauce.
Garlic mayo (homemade)
Finely sliced chilli
Thinly sliced veg (e.g. carrot, savoy cabbage, red onion) with dressing - equal parts lime juice, soy sauce and sesame oil).

Jesus, that sounds good!

It is amazing, and because it's fresh veg and no cheese, it's basically a lockdown detox!

Any shredded meat,I like to use beef, cover chips with meat, salsa, sour cream, mozzarella cheese and spring onions

We do two layers then top with cheddar cheese and bake in oven or under a grill for 20 mins

Omg I use to make these when I was a teenager and just throw anything and everything on! Always bacon, cheese, sour cream though non negotiable yummmm

Ha! I didn't notice names and thought "Jesus, that sounds good!"

Was just an appropriate exclamation for how delicious these chips are sounding Grin

I searched on here for ‘dirty fries’ and I knew Mumsnetters wouldn’t disappoint Grin

Currently have dirty fries on the go - parboiled some potatoes then sliced, covering in bacon, spring onion, jalapeños, chilli cheese, regular cheese, salsa and sour cream then in the oven. I’m starving!

Local pub used to do them with bacon, jalapenos and cheese sauce/melted plastic cheese.

My fave thing to do with fries is smother them with spicy mango chutney, mayonnaise and brown sauce. Not proper dirty but still delicious, especially after a night out on the lash!

We had smashed dirty potatoes tonight. New potatoes cooked on the BBQ then smash them up cover them on Monterey Jack and Cheddar with crispy bacon bits, onion powder splash of Worcester sauce cover and back onto the BBQ to melt the cheese. We practically inhaled them

Found a tub of salt / pepper / chilli seasoning in Home Bargains , mainly for Chinese type dishes but very very nice across nachos , chips etc
