What age did you get rid of floor gyms and swings?

My baby is 8 months old and only ever used the swing in the early days to nap. She now naps in her room. I haven't used the swing for a couple of months.

She loves the baby gym but rolls over immediately after putting her on and goes in search of other toys by trying to crawl.

I have a toddler with all the toys that entails and I'm due to move house soon and wondering if it's worth keeping it all. She has a bumbo seat, a bouncer, and another gym in a different room.

We are downsizing and there's just not room but I don't want to sell it to find I wish I hadn't later on.

We also have a 9 hole Kallax shelf stuffed with kids books. We read with the toddler everyday but I'm wondering if we should get rid of some, how many different books to kids enjoy at this age?

I've seen some beautiful houses that have kids and they don't seem to have half the crap I do or it's hidden, I'm wondering if we have too much crap!

I'd get rid.

I would say get rid of the swings and floor gyms but keep the jumperoo for now (that will come in very handy for moving and unpacking)

I forgot how but I'm sure Google will tell you but I'm sure you can fold a jumperoo

MsChatterbox · 02/05/2020 16:53

@ew1990 only spacesaver ones!

ew1990 · 02/05/2020 16:56

@misschatterbox I've tried to post a pic but it won't load. The link shows a rainforest one folded

Gyms as soon as they can crawl and the same with the bouncy chair. I’ve just got rid of the jumperoo at 9 months and she hasn’t used that for a while, she was nolonger interested in that when she could stand by herself. At this age they go trough toys very quickly.

SleepingStandingUp · 02/05/2020 16:59

Sounds like she's outgrown both, I'd get rid. I wouldn't get rid of books tho, your baby might like different books to your older one and as they get older and can read themselves different books will come into play. Maybe make an effort to read a different book every day and discard anything you dislike reading if you want to cut down? Some are badly written.

I don't trust people with two small people and a minimalist lifestyle of no clutter and mess 😂😂

@ew1990 I didn't know that! I'll keep it, I don't think she will be out of it by the time we move. Thank you

@SleepingStandingUp how do they do it? I should stop watching mummy vlogs, it's no good for my self esteem!
