If you're OK with subtitles (I know not everyone is keen) go to Walter Presents in the All4 app. Loads to watch.

PolloDePrimavera · 30/04/2020 20:57

Thank you PPs! I didn't know The Fall was on Amazon Prime! Just put it on as I like to support my future husband, Jamie Dornan.

Malotkins · 30/04/2020 20:59

Highly recommend save me and save me too on now tv. Both brilliant.

Greenvalleymama · 30/04/2020 21:16

Watch The Capture on BBC iplayer, it's brilliant!

I would also recommend London Kills on the iplayer but it looks like it's just the second series on there now. If the first series comes back on then that's one to watch too.

OhCantThinkOfANewName · 30/04/2020 21:21

I’ve just finished watching the capture, give that a try.

Wishihadanalgorithm · 30/04/2020 21:27

The Bridge. Then when all series are done watch The Tunnel. Amazing stuff.

WarmSausageTea · 30/04/2020 22:08

Messiah (the first series is the best.)
The Shield.
Law & Order SVU
Law & Order UK
The Bridge/The Tunnel

This week I have enjoyed 13 (iPlayer, a few years old) and Blood (channel 5). Both featuring crime but also very much exploring complicated family relationships.

frostyfingers · 02/05/2020 07:49

I have just discovered Mystery Road on IPlayer - Australian detective series with the most amazing scenery and music and a good storyline. I’m hooked! Sadly there’s only one series although when I googled it Series 2 was on the cards but heaven knows when that’ll get to us.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 02/05/2020 07:52

Shetland as many others have recommended.

The Mentalist. Love this series so, so much. Gripping, moving, witty, well-acted.

Saw Lie To Me recommended on here ages ago and binge-watched it x it's on Prime, I think.

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 02/05/2020 07:58

Lots that pp have already mentioned but also

How to get away with murder &
The Honourable woman - not a crime drama per se but brilliant.

K1999 · 02/05/2020 08:05

Life on Mars! On Netflix

peachypetite · 02/05/2020 08:07

Casa de papel on Netflix

nicola walker is ace in both of these

Just what I was going to recommend. Couldn't get enough of both! She's brilliant!

LeaveItBarbara · 02/05/2020 08:30

DH & I are watching Shetland from the beginning as our COVID Comforter: tea, bar of Tony Chocolonely, knitting, Jimmy Perez. It's not 'cosy' but it's well written, beautifully shot, sometimes poignant, sometimes funny, somewhere you want to 'be'.

It's interesting to compare/contrast with Hinterland. Same beautiful scenery, themes of isolation/nationality/rural crime but Hinterland is closer to Scandi-noir in its arty ambitions - it's a much chillier experience altogether.

Reluctantbettlynch · 02/05/2020 09:35

Criminal minds. Also big fan of The Mentalist, Shetland & Hinterland.
For lighter entertainment Shakespeare & Hathaway!

JengaNonConfirming · 02/05/2020 09:38

Border town, on Netflix, its brilliant. Its Finnish, so subtitled.

midsomermurderess · 02/05/2020 10:23

Oh, yes, Border Town is good. And interesting to have a bit of a look at Finland.

SirVixofVixHall · 02/05/2020 12:01

I will take a look at Border Town.
We really enjoyed The Bridge and Wallander.
There was a three parter with David Tennant some years back, The Escape Artist. Brutal first episode, but very gripping .

ThankyouPeter · 02/05/2020 12:46

Elementary is really good. Johnny Lee Miller as a modern day Sherlock. The Mentalist was really good and White Collar is a similar idea although the civilian side kick is a rather dishy con man.

dontcallmelen · 02/05/2020 12:53

Yy the mentalist & for a bit of frothyness Shakespeare & Hathaway I think Drama are doing a rerun of this in a couple of weeks, also Brokenwood on drama a series set in New Zealand is quirky & well acted.

JengaNonConfirming · 02/05/2020 12:58

For those that enjoyed The Bridge, have you tried The Killing (Danish original)? It's a fantastic watch.
