If you had to choose: trampoline, swings or climbing frame/slide?

We’ve got two DS 6 and nearly 3. We have a small garden and can only fit one large item of play equipment.

So would you choose:

-set of two swings
-large trampoline
-wooden climbing frame with slide.

..or something else I’ve not considered?

Trampoline, hands down.

We have a swing too and it's well used, but the trampoline wins.

Trampoline with safety net!

If you could afford it I think it looks better when the trampolines are put into the ground, especially for smaller gardens but this would probably have to be done after lockdown.

Trampoline by far and we’ve had the Junglegym with swings and slides. Actually we are on 2nd trampoline, 1st lasted 6 years with replacement net, we got a replacement because we needed another replacement net, pads and fibre poles which if Plum had all in stock we would have got but I found a deal, same trampoline for a few quid extra. Think It’s good to buy from somewhere like Plum so you can buy replacement parts (when in stock) to keep it in good nick. We got first trampoline when DD was 4, DS at 15 still goes on it so a much better buy than climbing frame which got dismantled when DD was 8.

Is anyone who owns a trampoline fessing up to allowing their dd to spy on the ndn??

We’ve had them all when our children were younger and I’d say the trampoline was the only one with longevity . However I do think you need a minimum of 12’ with a net to make it last a good long time .

I would choose either slide or swings. I know accidents can happen on anything but I’m a paeds nurse and the amount of children that are admitted almost every shift with a broken limb from a trampoline is unreal, and that’s not the ones that just go to a+e. It’s made me never want to have one myself!

Grin We have deep borders either side of the garden with several small trees in them so the DC can't stand and spy. They did have a loud conversation with their friends 4 gardens down a couple of weeks ago. It was a one off though.

Trampoline if only one. Best investment ever!

Stompythedinosaur · 29/04/2020 20:39

I'd go with swings. Our trampoline gets a fair bit of use, but not as much as the swings.
