There's a song out at the minute with a female singer that samples a dance tune from (I think) the late 90s / early 00s and it's driving me MAD where the sample is from. It goes:

Na na na na na na na nana na na nananana na na na

In the original the woman sang 'remember me, I'm the

Sorry it's not much to go on but I trust you lot.

TIA

Ask Alexa!

AvalancheKit · 27/04/2020 18:42

How are we supposed to work out all those ‘na na’ clusters?

Hmm Is it 'Here comes the hot stepper'? That's the only one I can think of.

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 27/04/2020 18:42

Its in my head now!

Anoisagusaris · 27/04/2020 18:44

Remember Me by Blue Boy

minipie · 27/04/2020 18:44

Is it “Remember me, I’m the one who had your baby”?

TheSpottedZebra · 27/04/2020 18:46

Yep, that Blue Boy song. Which itself sampled someone else.

minipie · 27/04/2020 18:47

And it’s more of a ding diggi diggi ding than na na na

TheSpottedZebra · 27/04/2020 18:48

Its I'm the one who had your babies' eyes, isn't it?

But I used to sing geng, not na.

Unhelpfully, I've not heard the newer one sampling it.

Nancy78 · 27/04/2020 18:50

It's by Mabel, song called boyfriend.

whisper1991 · 27/04/2020 18:51

The one out now has the na na's. The original indeed was more ging-y.

I luffs the lot of you.

bluebiro · 27/04/2020 18:59

The original song it samples is Woman of the Ghetto by Marlena Shaw

iklboo · 27/04/2020 19:01

@bluebiro - that's interesting thanks. I'll check that out.
