Nicest nesspreso capsule for a latte?

My friend has very generously bought me a Nespresso Machine for lock down. Omg I love it! I usually drink Nero's coffee, but I don't think I can but their pods online at the minute. What works well in a latte?

You can use any strong strength pod. The stronger espresso or lungo ones. I microwave half a cup of low fat milk, then add the coffee to that.

I like the Illy ones personally

SnowsInWater · 27/04/2020 08:30

The Dharkan pods are my favourite Nespresso pods for a latte (they are a darkish blue). I agree the strongest Illy pods are the nicest.

Arpeggio imo - they are the most popular ones in the UK. They are purple.

The L'Or ones work well too - I find a lot of the plastic compatibles don't actually work very well at all.

You can buy the blonde roast Starbucks coffee pods at Tesco which work well as a latte ☺️

amusedbush · 27/04/2020 10:32

I know Starbucks coffee isn't great but I make an iced caramel latte most days, and I bulk buy the blonde roast Starbucks pods on Amazon. It's £19 for 80 pods, which is a lot cheaper than the supermarkets.

I'm not trying to make a "good" coffee, I'm trying to replicate Starbucks Grin

Nespresso are still managing next day delivery for their capsules. I just upgraded my nespresso machine to a latissima and it's keeping me sane during lockdown! I like Dharkan, Envivo, Indira and Roma for a latte. They also have capsules created for milk recipes. I cant remember what they're called, but you can find them on the app or the website. I prefer the stronger one in the range.

I have two double flat whites every morning.
Husband makes them for me.
It is one of my favourite parts of the day.

Toddlerteaplease · 28/04/2020 20:13

My friend recommended the Arpeggio ones. I've got some caramel pods which are nice. Next on the list is Nero's and L'or. I think.

Nespresso do three capsules especially for milky coffee. Chiaro is the least intense, Scuro is in the middle and the Corto is the strongest one.

I like the Corto myself, it's strong enough to give a decent coffee flavour to the milk.

RogueV · 29/04/2020 10:03

Arpeggio (purple)
Indonesia (turquoisy)
Dharkhan nice too

Candyflosscookie · 29/04/2020 11:06

Arpeggio all the way, it's my fav. Really lovely smooth rounded flavour.

Don't get L'or anything, they are absolute shit.

wowfudge · 29/04/2020 14:49

I disagree about L'Or capsules - one of the better compatibles. We used to have Roma at work at it was too bitter imo. The Corto capsules make a good cortado with a splash of milk.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/05/2020 21:42

The L'or capsules are really nice.
