Help me buy a hair product - I don’t know it’s name!

I have naturally grey hair, but a few months went blonde. I regret it and want it back grey, so it will grow out.

At the last hair visit ore lockdown they used something - perhaps a toner - which kept it grey for a week or two, but the blonde is back.

What is it I need to get my silver back? I have tried purple touch of silver shampoo but the blonde wins out.

They probably did use toner, the problem is figuring out what shade

You can try generously applying the purple shampoo on dry hair and leaving it on for longer - it will make your hair turn more purple toned so give you more silver/ash vibes.

Just a thought, if you’re naturally grey how exactly did they make you blonde? I’m thinking you could probably wash out a blonde tint in time if your hair wasn’t lightened

Unfortunately without contacting your hairdresser you probably won't know which toner it was. And it was likely to be bought at a place only professionals can purchase from. If you want something to do at home I suggest a semi-permanent hair colour as most home toner are rubbish.

I like Schwarzkopf colours personally and went bright purple and blue with their semi permanent and it lasted ages. I'm not sure of the staying power of their grey but it could work well.

I've added a pic of the type I mean they have loads online with different shades. Hope this helps

Have you tried the home stripping kit? I did with great results!! Hair b 4 or something like that. Was very cheap and was very skeptical. Hair was very very dark and turned natural blonde (with quite a few greys! Sad).. Had forgotten the true colour tbh!!

if OP has bleached hair, stripping will possibly damage the hair badly if not turn it a really random colour. Bleached hair is already stripped.

I have white/grey roots with some old ashy highlights in the ends. Ive just used Wella Colour Fresh in colour 10/81 which is a semi-permanent colour but acts like a toner. I left it on for 20mins and it has got rid of all the brassiness in the highlights and made them almost grey/white to match my roots at the front where they are paler.

I use a purple shampoo like you, but i needed this semi-permanent to CHANGE the colour - the shampoo can maintain .

Was it a mousse like this OP? It gives temporary colour. This one is pearl grey and my DM uses it as she doesn’t like her hair white.

Thanks Lego. I don’t think it was a mousse though.
