Has anyone lost a considerable amount of weight post menopause?

I've always had weight issues but now I've put another 10lbs on. Am sure it's related to menopause and will not budge.

Has anyone lost more than a stone post menopause?

Sick of men telling me 'just eat less and move more'. My husband cuts out a mid week drink and loses half a stone!
Meanwhile I'm counting calories and exercising and losing half a pound a month! Argh

I’ve lost 2 stone but only after logging every calorie I consume religiously in My Fitness Pal and by realising 2000 a day for women is based on a young woman, not someone my age.

Tdee is the amount of calories to eat in a day to stay the same weight you are now. To lose you need to reduce the amount of calories by 20%.
Work out your tdee with this link then lower the amount of calories to see what you should be aiming for.

My tdee is 1650. If I eat over that I go up, to lose I drop to 1,400-1,500 calories.

I eat crisps, chocolate, drink wine BUT because I weigh and log everything I consume I make better choices. A healthy roast dinner can be less calories than a piece of cake. Shop bought sandwiches can be more than a home made sandwich and a biscuit.
A banana may be healthy but it if you would rather have 2 Jaffa cakes instead-go for it. As long as you log it accurately and stick to target.
Admittedly it’s quite boring weighing out 100g of oven chips but not half as bad as being 2 stone heavier!

My mum has lost weight many times post-menopause. Two stone or more.

Yes, I have lost lots of weight without wanting to, I have absolutely no arse, stick legs and it is totally unattractive. I did not need to lose weight. DD calls me 'floppy bottom'

I have huge stomach in proportion to all this. ALL the weight goes there. Every calorie. No point in trying to lose it, as it won't come off there. I look like a weeble. Nothing fits, all old size 8/10 clothes go on, but to do them up round the waist would mean I would have to half it in size.

If you look at old ladies they all look like this, stick legs and large stomach.

So depressing. I am 49 and went into early menopause at 45.

Do you really mean weight or total change of shape? Sad

I've done low card/pilates/yoga etc.

If I do this, there is a slight difference, but it is utterly miserable and unsustainable.

I eat very healthily anyway.

I do drink too much.

It's very hard. I'm 54 and it's a battle to stay at size 10. It's true that all the weight sticks around your middle too. Skinny DH is always making snidey comments about my shape and asking if I've 'been on the scales recently' Grin
