Looking to send a helium balloon type gift. Any companies still doing these? Especially smaller companies that need the custom?

There’s people advertising it on my local fb maybe try yours? Also card factory are still doing them when I last looked

Mrsmorton · 27/04/2020 13:17

I picked 2 of these out of a hedge on my last walk.

lemontreebird · 27/04/2020 13:25

Yes. I've used BloonAway recently.

Cherrysoup · 27/04/2020 13:55

Helium, naturally occurring, in short supply, used in mri machines.

AmIAStone · 27/04/2020 14:50

They’re not going to be released and just as happy with a balloon display made from air.

in that case, blow them up with air. Helium balloons need to be banned, same as sky lanterns, ANY balloon release and other forms of mass littering.

ExpletiveDelighted · 27/04/2020 15:51

Yes, go with air, save the helium for medical use. I think it should be banned for balloons too.

AmIAStone · 27/04/2020 16:30

Not looking for a balloon release or evil sky lantern, looking for a delivery gift of balloons. Happy to have more eco friendly suggestions, if not will be sending a balloon display.

AmIAStone · 27/04/2020 16:32

@mencken, I can’t really blow them up myself what with the current lockdown and unable to visit people.

@ExpletiveDelighted more than happy for you to give me some suggestions of companies delivery balloon displays filled with air.

I don't know any, sorry, perhaps I shouldn't have posted but I do feel that helium shouldn't be wasted like this.

Lionsleepstonight · 27/04/2020 19:15

I found a local business recently via facebook. Really helped lift a relatively flat lockdown birthday for a child.

heidbuttsupper · 27/04/2020 19:18

I ordered a set of balloons from the Card Factory.

Summergarden · 28/04/2020 00:07

Try searching on Facebook for balloons in your town.

I did this and saw that a couple of small businesses are offering contactless delivery though it needs to work around when they are doing essential driving eg shopping so they can combine into one trip.

mencken · 28/04/2020 12:09

there are some things that you can't have in lockdown. This is one of them. Chucking the toys doesn't change that.

AmIAStone · 28/04/2020 17:43

Thanks @mencken it’s not for me, it’s as a gift for someone else on a big life event. That’s why I was asking if anyone was still delivering and wanted to order from a smaller company that was struggling.
No toy chucking here. Same as people ordering plants because they want them and to support the local garden centres who might be going out of business if not

Hence asking about the delivery aspect. I’m not with the other person. HTH.
