Le Creuset or Peugeot? (Grinders/Mills)

I need some new salt and pepper mills and have been meaning to finally buy decent ones after many years of rubbish ones.

Should I be buying Le Creuset or Peugeot?

Peugeot - I just replaced a Peugeot pepper mill that I bought in 1976!

We love our le creuset ones - has them 8 years so far and they are like brand new. Sturdy but not too heavy. And I don’t think they were very expensive?

Whilst I love Le Creuset pans, I’d go Peugeot every time for grinders.

I believe Peugeot were making grinders before they made cars, they use burr grinders as do the top coffee machines.

Also, my Peugeot salt and pepper grinders are excellent. Pricy but well worth it.

Ours are Peugeot. We really only use the pepper mill and I put it in a small glass dish or it leaves pepper dust on every surface but I guess they're all like that?
Tbh I expected it to be more productive (ie grind more pepper) than it is. But it's streets ahead of all the cheap ones I've had in the past.

I recently sent several weeks researching mills!!!I had NO idea there were SO many brands and prices.

We also got Peugeot in the end. The salt one had a dodgy screw though at the top. When I'd grind, the screw would loosen, so I was constantly tightening it. When tight though, I couldn't turn the grind to the finer settings. I contacted Peugeot, posted the original back and they replaced it asap. I'd had it 3 weeks, as thought maybe I was doing something wrong, but they still replaced it. Very pleased.

No experience of Peugeot but I love my le crueset ones

We have these ones. Have had them about 7 years so far and they're great.

So easy to refill and fantastic grinders.

On the whole I love Le Creuset and all our pots and pans are by them.

You probably can't go wrong!

Peugeot for grinders - if they're good enough for Cunard...

Oxo. I prefer the look and feel to any of the LC or Peugeot range.

HoldMyLobster · 25/04/2020 23:06

We just got Oxo grinders and they are wonderful.
