He watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid today and loved it. Can anyone recommend any others please? We have Sky, Netflix, Apple TV and Amazon Prime. Thanks!

I used to LOVE the tv series Alias Smith and Jones when I was not much older than that. I wonder if you can get episodes on YouTube?

[Disclaimer: 80s TV series' don't always live up to memory..]

Oh I loved that too. 80s dross disclaimer still applies.

There was an 80s Western movie with all the brat pack in..... Young Guns!!! Can't remember if it was PG, it had Lou Diamond Phillips in it 😍

Although Back to the Future 3 is a time-travel film, the central section meets all my requirements for a Western. There are six-shooters and horses, runaway buckboards, steam trains, stagecoaches, shootouts and (my favourite bit) a saloon scene. It’s funny and fast-paced so great for kids, and makes lots of witty references to other Westerns.
Rango is clever and funny animated take on the Western film: all the characters are desert creatures and the horses are roadrunners. Like Back to the Future 3, it references a lot of other Western and non-Western films. But even if you don't get the references, its still good fun.
