Can you buy a Amazon e-gift card for someone in the US?

Just that really, we have a family member in the US who is really struggling, I'd like to buy them an Amazon e-gift card that they can then use to buy some things they need.

If I buy one from my account here in the UK it won't work for them on the US site apparently. Can I create an account for the US Amazon and buy the e-gift from there on my debit or credit card? Will the fact I've got a UK card to pay with effect anything? Sorry if this sounds really clueless Blush

I don't think you can do this. I bought a visa prepaid card for a similar reason and that as a better solution overall

You just need to log on via amazon.com the USA site. I do it regularly for family. You will need to enter credit card details the first time.

I've done it too but I believe Amazon can only deliver a limited range of items atm.
