So I have an Asda delivery pass. Which means I have paid a lump sum for the year for deliveries.
Up until this week I was able to get a slot, and I did that because I was buying for 4 households, 3 of them shielding.
Now, they have set up their own click and collect with their own supermarkets and I collect for them.
So, I am healthy, not in a vulnerbale group and I could either click and collect or go to the shop. I have happy to give up my delivery slot for people who need it. But I have paid for a delivery slot.
So I tried to phone Asda, to ask, how about you suspend my delivery apss for 3 or 6 months? So that other can use my slot. But her's the thing. You can't email them. You can only phone, and on the phone they will only deal with a current order. If your call isn't about a current order, they cut you off.
Now I think this would be an easy way to free up some more slots. Just write to those with delivery passes and ask if they want to freeze their pass for a few months, to allow others to use the slots. But you can't contatc them to ask the question.
So, I've paid for them. I can;t get them now most weeks anyway, and I don't really need them.
Am I being unreasonable?
