Do you wash your children's hair with a different shampoo to yourself?

I have DD's 5 & 3 ive always washed their hair with whatever shampoo the rest of the household use. Do you buy a separate shampoo for your kids?

Yes I alternate between a nit repellant shampoo and a non-sting one for the kids. I use one for highlighted hair for mine. I do use the same hair mask for dd (7) as I use on my own as her hair is the same knotty, frizzy, fine, curly mess mine is so i know it works really well for getting it nice and silky and manageable again.

Mine have their own kids shampoo. Both have very short hair and one has eczema so needs soft soap.

Might move onto a sensitive brand later

14 year old is now using whatever I pick up on offer,at the moment it vo5 and tresemme, 7 year old is using child's farm as they've always suffered with itchy scalps when young.

Yes

reluctantbrit · 20/04/2020 19:48

Yes I have to. I have short, thin, straight hair and need a boosting shampoo.

DD has thick wavy long locks. She needed a decent shampoo and conditioner as soon as she was 1 1/2 years and her hair was not longer looking like a buzz cut

We used Child Farms for ages, I think until she was 8 or 9, then we moved to a decent shampoo suitable for her hair.

It is a nightmare for holidays though, no chance in saving space with using one bottle for all of us.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 20/04/2020 19:52

Yes ,generally a cheapo one !
There's one from aldi that says it repels headlice, it may very well work as ds has never had them ....but I like it because it's cheap, smells great and makes his hair super shiny !

ohmysoul · 20/04/2020 19:53

We use L'Oréal kids too. DD loves the strawberry one.

lboogy · 20/04/2020 19:55

Yes, I use an organic brand. Can't remember the name. I assumed the adults stuff was too harsh

lboogy · 20/04/2020 19:55

It's child's farm

DonnaDarko · 20/04/2020 19:55

Same brand but DS uses the kids version. if I run out, I use his stuff though. we both have very curly afros.

SpeedofaSloth · 20/04/2020 19:57

Yes, DD has thick strong hair, I have thin coloured hair, DS is getting a bit greasy adn DH is prone to dandruff so we all have shampoos to suit.
DS also likes Lynx hair and body wash to match his body spray, now he is getting a bit older (11, bless him)

melissasummerfield · 20/04/2020 19:57

Yeah separate ones, they have kids ones because adult shampoo in the eye is one of the worst things ever!

Bienentrinkwasser · 20/04/2020 19:58

I use any old cheapy stuff on my hair. DS just has Cantu kids conditioner for curly hair, no shampoo. When I used baby shampoo in him we shared.

SimonJT · 20/04/2020 19:58

No, my shampoo/conditioner is quite pricey, I use simple shampoo/conditioner on my sons hair.

DjMomo · 20/04/2020 20:00

I often use kids shampoos though I don’t have kids. L’Oréal kids 2 in 1 is quite good. So is Childs Farm.

slipperywhensparticus · 20/04/2020 20:00

Yes mine have vosene I have the coloured hair shampoo
