Asda taken delivery money a day early

I noticed that Asda have taken the money for my Tuesday delivery sometime last night. They usually take it the night before or just after midnight. Is this a new thing? Can I still amend my order? I'm scared they are going to take it again tonight and I'll be broke!

That happened to me last week. The difference was then sorted out after they did the actual shop, my shop was less than the amount taken and the difference was refunded to my account and showed on my account three days later.

I paid with a debit card, DP thinks it might be different with a credit card. I guess it's better for them to take payment before the shop, rather than do the shop then discover you don't have the money to pay for it.

@Fairylillie Thank you! Why did they take a different amount, did you amend the order?

Happened to me last week. If you amend the order and it costs more, they just take the difference.

When they did my shop there were five items not available and I said I didn't want a substitute for them so they owed me some money.

They started doing this to me a few weeks ago.

I had a monthly pass and reoccurring slot I'd had for 8 months.

One week I ordered near on £50 worth of stuff. They couldn't provide some of it and couldn't substitute. Therefore the bill came to £39.97. They then charged me £3 to pick and £3 delivery!

The following weeks they then took the money before picking and refunded me days later for the stuff I couldn't get (out of stock and no alternatives) leaving me short of food and money! I'm GF so this was actual stuff I needed rather than wanted and could do without.

I cancelled the pass and slot!

Gone back to shopping at Aldi (cheaper!). Plus as ds isn't training for his sport 6 times a week and I'm mostly WFH I have the time now too!

Ah ok, thanks all. I would prefer to shop at Aldi or Lidl but I have a 3 year old with additional needs that touches everything and will scream blue murder if forced to stop.

Yeah I get that. I have a 15yo with ASD. He's aware of the virus and I'm actually taking him shopping once a fortnight to help balance his anxiety of covid and help him learn it's ok if you manage the hand washing.

Then today we walked to local Tesco's. Not that local but close enough to walk! We finished and wanted to hand wash before walk home - except they've closed the toilets due to infection control Hmm. Also while inside they tested the fire alarm and he had a panic attack Sad. Thankfully a lovely man at entrance as we flowed the route out let us use some hand wash before we went home. But he's the opposite where he's scared to touch anything and although I get they are saying stay at home etc he didn't leave the house once for 6 months due to anxiety and so I have to balance this for his future MH. He's already been thrown into deep end with school ending suddenly for year 11, having to start college probably without all the intro sessions he had added to his ehcp at Annual review and the amended ehcp due end of March still not being here and radio silence from la when asking what's happening.

So yes, I can get why you'd prefer online shopping right now. Hope your managing lockdown ok. Did you know that they've now adapted the exercising bit for people with special needs. You can go out for 2/3 walks a day (still social distancing etc but can drive somewhere quite if needed) if you have a child or adult with send who requires this.

@itsgettingweird Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your ds. I hope it starts to get better for you. What a nice man to help you at the entrance 😊

I didn't know that about the amended rules, so thank you for that! That will certainly help to get him out and burn off some extra energy.
