I always thought the British tabloids were the worst in the world, for obvious reasons. However the absolute rubbish the US magazines print about the royal family is astonishing.

How do they get away with this?!

(FYI - I am not a royalist by any stretch!)

I don’t think the Queen will take a blind bit of notice to be honest.

Destroyer · 19/04/2020 17:49

Whether she would or not is irrelevant. It’s the blatant publishing of lies that’s the problem.

Connie222 · 19/04/2020 17:49

The National enquirer is like the daily mail on smack.

The publication is renowned for printing utter bollocks though. It's its selling point.

BlueJava · 19/04/2020 17:51

You can't argue with stupid - so they dont.

feathermucker · 19/04/2020 17:52

It's the National Enquirer. No more to be said.

notsureneversure · 19/04/2020 17:55

The National Enquirer is the rag to end all rags.

Apart from anything else, the Queen’s funeral was planned long ago and at that age a diagnosis of “months to live” would not come as a surprise to anyone!

Crafting1Queen · 19/04/2020 17:57

If you're that horrified, and know that certain magazine write absolute rubbish on the subject, why are you posting about it, and worse, actually copied the front page of this drivel for us to see? Who needs to pay for publicists or a PR Team, when people copy this type of utter nonsense and put it onto Social Media or public forums. Good Job!

Aesopfable · 19/04/2020 17:58

Next week they will be saying she is pregnant

alloutoffucks · 19/04/2020 18:00

She is 93. It would not be that unexpected if she has months to live.

iklboo · 19/04/2020 18:01

They didn't say how many months to be fair. It could be another 120.

Moonshinemisses · 19/04/2020 18:02

That's pretty tame for the Enquirer, Its not known for its serious journalism

squirrelsbizaar · 19/04/2020 18:06

It’s hardly an esteemed publication is it. I remember buying it years ago as a student (25+years ago) to laugh at the stories about alien abduction. One particularly memorable front page was someone had managed to capture pictures of ‘heaven’.
Only a half wit would take that rag seriously and there’s not cure for stupid, so leave em to it.

x2boys · 19/04/2020 18:07

Isnt this same paper that said Prince Charles and Diana had a secret Daughter ?

HavenDilemma · 19/04/2020 18:10

@Crafting1Queen It's called discussion - what MN is designed for Hmm

You need to calm down love

OP posts:
alloutoffucks · 19/04/2020 18:14

It is probably bollocks.
But if true I do not know why anyone would be surprised? It would hardly be a shock revelation. She is not immortal.

FliesandPies · 19/04/2020 18:15

It's the National Enquirer, not even tabloid.

TheMagiciansMewTwo · 19/04/2020 18:18

I don't know why you'd think the British tabloids were worse. The US tabloids and magazines have always been much worse than our's and especially when it comes to Royal stories. Here, there are agreements between the RF and the media they horse trade stories back and forward all the time. In the US, there's no such reciprocal agreement so it's a free-for-all.

lakequeen · 19/04/2020 18:21

Yeah they're mad over there, I saw one last time I was there

DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE'S PLOT TO MAKE HERSELF QUEEN!!!!

lottiegarbanzo · 19/04/2020 18:21

The only true stories in the NE are the science ones and they are always surprising. Everything else is the most outrageous but often entertaining bollocks - on an 'Elvis found living on the moon' level.

TheVanguardSix · 19/04/2020 18:22

I'm from the States and let me just say, if you think that's bad, try our other tabloid bad boy, The Globe. They'd probably run a story like Queen Dies in Childbirth After Delivering Alien Lover's Baby.

lottiegarbanzo · 19/04/2020 18:22

Think of it as a comic, an entertainment. It's not a newspaper.

TheVanguardSix · 19/04/2020 18:23

The National enquirer is like the daily mail on smack

It's a brilliant loo read! Entertaining AND you can wipe your backside with it. Grin

somebodyelseinstead · 19/04/2020 18:26

Your'e horrified, are you?

If you're that horrified, what possessed you to start a thread about it and spread it around even more?

Hmm
iklboo · 19/04/2020 18:26

@TheVanguardSix - handy to remember if we have another loo roll shortage Grin
