Totally new to all this but feel I needed to ask likeminded mums the question!
How are people managing to look after their children whilst going into labour? With social distancing and lockdown in place do I go it alone and try give birth in my own, leaving dad to look after our son and miss out on the birth of his little girl 😢 or do I drop my son at a family or friends house and risk the virus being brought into our home via our son? Such tough times and no guidelines out there! And feedback would be great!

Do you have family that have been staying at home and sticking to social distancing rules that are in a position to look after him? If you are sure that you have then I would do this as assuming you have been isolating as well then risk very low. If family all elderly or have children of their own I would consider going to hospital myself. Are they allowing Dads into the ward in the hospital where you are planning to give birth?

Also how was your first birth? Did you manage without pain relief and medical intervention if so could you consider having baby at home? Obviously you have to be confident with yourself on this one though.

Good luck, very tricky situation to be in.

I had an emergency c section with my first so a home birth is a no go, on top of all this I need to decide to have on a natural birth or elective section which again is baffling me during these crazy times! Hopefully if I make a decision to have a section dad will be a able to pick us up from the hospital and we could plan things better 🤞🏻🤞🏻
