I've just binge watched Life on Mars. I loved it, the ending made me cry.
I was just wondering if Ashes to Ashes is worth a watch?

I loved Ashes to Ashes, Keely Hawes is great in it, I've never fancied Philip Glenister in anything else but Gene Hunt does have something about him.

I wonder what the new series will be like.

Yes definitely worth a watch but the ending is a bit pish.

I was a massive fan of both Life On Mars and Ashes to Ashes (as my user name will testify). Loved watching it all come together in the final series of Ashes and thought the ending for perfect.

Really surprised to hear the writers are planning another series. Huge fan that I am I wish they wouldn't though. I don't want to say too much as I can see from this thread that some people have watched it all previous (how, why? It was massive at the time!). The thing is though Gene's story has been told, we know. A new series can't work the way the others did as, well we know, you know 😄

I preferred Ashes to Ashes. And developed a huge crush on Gene Hunt too. What a man.

It was published on April 1st so I thought it being too good to be true was probably an Aprils Fool Glad it wasn't . "I'm having Oops".

I developed a bit of a thing for Gene watching Ashes to Ashes the first time, felt nothing for him when we just rewatched Life on Mars so will be interesting to see when we move onto the Ashes rewatch whether 80s Gene does it for me again

It cracks me up that large parts of Stockport (where we live) still look exactly the same as the ‘70s’ filming locations. Every time in the intro when Sam said ‘am I in a coma, mad, back in time Blah Blah’ DH would reply ‘no late you’re just in Stockport’.

I love both series and have the box sets. I cried at the end too OP.

The music is great on both series, cost me a fortune on itunes downloading the best ones.

DH has forced me to watch Life on Mars which we’re almost done with and he wants us to start Ashes To Ashes next. I think it’s terrible, the acting is awful.
