Anyone with a teenager who may have had coronavirus?

My daughter 16 seems to have had it very mildly but no cough. Just tiredness, aches, a bit of a sore throat. Anyone else got a teen or young child who has has these mild symptoms?

18yo DS1possibly had it last month. Started with a splitting headache that nothing could touch and exhaustion for a few days, then 4-5 days of feeling like he was coming down with a cold - general aches, bit of sinus pain, itchy feeling in his nose but no congestion or runny nose. He lost all sense of smell and taste on the 12th, absolutely nothing for 16 days. His sense of smell and taste for sweet flavours came back far quicker than savoury. There are still some savoury foods he can't taste, this week he's definitely gained a lot back though. He never had a fever or cough but the loss of taste and smell is what has us wondering if it might have been CV.

Meant to say, he only felt unwell for the first 7 days or so, most of the time when he was without smell and taste he was otherwise absolutely fine in himself.

My DS aged 19 had splitting headache, sore throat and high temp - no cough though or loss of tastr/smell.

He was in bed for about five days then fully okay again after about seven days.

Thanks BearSo Fair. So you believe the lack of a cough or sore throat doesn't count against it being Coronavirus? My daughter said she coughed a little at the start but it certainly wasn't persistent and this said to be a defining symptom, from what I keep seeing.

I believe my son had it. Uni (in London). Cough, temperature and he said he felt like he had glass in his throat. He drank plenty of Lemsip and mainly hot soup- he lost a great deal of weight.
(This was just after half term).
GP said it was just winter bug going around and sent him off with advise to drink plenty of fluids.

I think ds14 had it. Sore throat, slight cough, couple of temperature spikes on day 3 and 4, tired. It was very mild, the only reason I’m convinced it was is that dh was 2 days ahead of him with what seems to be a severe case.

My 16 year old has had it. He had headache, general aches and pains, chills and fever, fatigue and need to sleep a lot (was in bed for 3 days straight), loss of appetite. By far his worst symptom was a raging sore throat. He was unwell for about 8 or 9 days.

Ds 13 may have had it at end of Feb. High temp, pain in limbs, neck and back, sore throat, very fatigued and dry cough at end. Lasted about a week. I had similar as did DD 15 after that.

Titsywoo · 19/04/2020 00:46

Oh yes bad shivering and chills too

16yr old DS may have had it but not sure. He had a very bad dry cough for over a week, also a very dry sore throat. But he didn't have a fever or feel tired or ill apart from the cough and throat. So difficult to know!

Daughter 17.

Started with diarrhoea, painful eyes, chills. During second and third days temp spiked up and down, highest was 38. Tickly throat. By day four, temperature back down to normal and just a bit tired. Fine by about day five.

Isolated in bedroom, hasn't passed it on to anyone else in the house (we're nearly at the end of the fourteen days now). I guess probably not Covid but who knows?

Thanks to everyone who's answering. It's all interesting to read about.
What I'm especially interested in, is people whose children have had very mild symptoms,so mild or not sounding necessarily like CV- what do you consider to be the main typical symptoms that they did have?
