I know I know there's lots of arguments for not adding to the deliveries being sent and stopping ordering online but it's my sister's birthday next week and I'd like to send her something really lovely to make her day a bit nicer.
I wanted to send these from Doughnut Time for a bit of fun - www.doughnuttimestore.com/product/the-design-yo-own-kit/66?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=false&category_id=2 but they're currently sold out.

Any ideas?

I have a small team of clinicians working on the Military Coronavirus response... I sent them coffee.

macaronip1e · 19/04/2020 16:22

I would recommend the Honeywell Biscuit company - they do lovely biscuits as well as fun bake at home kits

If she likes brownies I like Bluebasil Brownies and Little Bee Bakes (I think the Little Bee Bakes is really good value compared with others, particularly for subscriptions)

DD and I have each went these to friends of ours today. Mine from J Lewis and DD from Amazon as she found it worked out cheaper with free delivery.

Happy News

A lovely self care box of book and treats for my friend working in ICU from www.reposed.co
You can also donate £5 and they will send a gift to a nominated NHS worker. A really lovely idea.

I was coming on to suggest Gower cottage brownies but can see someone’s beat me to it - they are incredible!

I’ve sent someone a cream tea from not on the high street, and some macaroons too, but the brownies are my fave!

AllHallowsEve14 · 19/04/2020 16:34

I sent a friend an afternoon tea from a local company

elfycat · 19/04/2020 16:41

I sell small vintage items on Etsy and I had a customer ask for an item to be gift wrapped. I had to clarify another detail of her order and it turns out she was ordering and getting it wrapped as a gift to herself which I thought was lovely.

I sent my mother 12 first class stamps anonymously (actually 11 as I used one to post them). Gallows humour a little. She's shielding due to age/ mild medical condition and had to send a bereavement card Second class which she didn't feel was the done thing.

My friend has sent me a picture of something crocheted/ I'm very temped to make something similar for her (over the top toilet roll cover in the style of crochet-gone-bad) and post it.

DanceWithYourBalloon · 19/04/2020 16:55

We sent some frontline Dr friends an afternoon tea hamper.

Bumfuzzled · 19/04/2020 16:58

My lovely friend sent me flowers from Bloom and Wild at the end of March. They were stunning, really different to the usual bunches of flowers. They also lasted over 2 weeks.

A box of Hotel Chocolats is always a treat. I’d love some, plus a crate of wine Grin

blueglassandfreesias · 19/04/2020 17:00

Sent my granny some rose and violet creams!

KurriKawari · 19/04/2020 17:02

Ordered flowers from local independent florist for a friend and they were really love.

Purpleorangegerberas · 19/04/2020 17:02

I’ve sent somebody who has previously worked with my son with additional needs a plant and some chocolate (we remained friends afterwards) although I didn’t actually send it... I left it outside her door and sent a text!
I sent someone A giant kinder egg as it’s their favourite chocolate, some Yorkshire tea bags as she’s not been able to get hold of any and a cream for her face as it’s broken out and it’s a great cream! And I have a gift to send my best friend tomorrow who has had a new baby which consists of a card, a couple of outfits for the baby and a small gift for her other 2 DC so they don’t feel left out Smile

Jemma2907 · 19/04/2020 17:04

unicornsrule · 19/04/2020 17:06

Donuts look great 💖

FizzyPink · 23/04/2020 15:22

Thanks @MrsKipling16 ordered yesterday and they arrived today! Apparently they look and smell amazing so I’d definitely recommend if anyone is looking for something a bit different - www.doughnuttimestore.com/shop/diy-home-kit/2

Sent my niece an awesome personalised sweatshirt from Not on the the high Street. Apparently she loves it, not that I’d no, as she’s not bothered to say thank you... but that’s a whole other thread!

feesh · 23/04/2020 15:45

I rang a local farm shop and got them to send a hamper to my Dad. He totally moaned about it and I wish I never bothered, but the thought was there (both for him and supporting his local businesses).

pamplemoussed · 23/04/2020 15:50

I have used Flowerbx for my parents next door neighbours ( as I live in another country and they have been so good to them) and Liberty’s online for myself - some lovely hand cream from Aesop . To me , from me!

FizzyPink · 23/04/2020 16:25

Gosh @feesh and @Livingthecovidaloca what’s with these ungrateful recipients! I’d love for someone to send me something unexpected, think I might steal some of these ideas for myself Grin
