How do I ask Joe Wicks to include a shout out to my daughter during his workouts?

My daughter asks me every day to request a shout out to us exercising! We do the 9 am workout on YouTube every morning and loves it. I have an Instagram account but don’t use it much. I don’t understand hashtag, can anyone explain to me in simple terms how to do it as a google search hasn’t helped! Thank you!

Tweet him or message him on Instagram make sure you tell him how life changing his workouts are and he will read it out

Sunflower101 · 17/04/2020 07:40

Thanks, will have a go!

Ideally pretend you are in some far flung place as well. 😁

But your chances are still fairly slim as thousands of other people do the same. Yes, exotic location is more likely to get you mentioned — he likes to promote the worldwide nature of the JW brand — and if your daughter has a simple, familiar name. I don’t think Joe and his assistants are highly literate. My son’s unusual Irish name was never going to trip off his lips.

’I don’t think Joe and his assistants are highly literate’

What a horrid, sneering thing to say.

Scarydinosaurs · 17/04/2020 07:53

I always thought the shout outs came from the YouTube comments?

We have loved the workouts. I think he is doing a great job.

Fluandseptember · 17/04/2020 07:57

He’s great at capital cities!

Goatinthegarden · 17/04/2020 08:17

I don’t think Joe and his assistants are highly literate.

That is incredibly rude.

Joe Wicks is successfully motivating a nation of children into exercising every morning. He has a successful series of cookbooks and various other ventures.

What about him suggests to you that he isn’t literate...?

FWIW, I’d consider myself competently literate in two languages, but I’d probably have to look up how to pronounce an unusual Irish name.

BananaPlant · 17/04/2020 08:24

You can write in the comments in youtube if you register and sign in. But he gets 1000s of shout out requests every day, so don’t get your DD’s hopes up.

UhKevin · 17/04/2020 08:27

Shown yourself right up there, haven’t you, Cnoc?

CoronaIsComing · 17/04/2020 08:28

You just comment in the comments section on YouTube, but you can see the comments flooding in every second so your chances are pretty low. I guess your best bet is to comment every day.

Sunflower101 · 17/04/2020 11:17

I dindnt know I could comment in a comment section on YouTube tbh! Will have a look! Thanks everyone!

By whose reckoning? I'm mostly amused at the sudden defence of a man who is usually viewed on here as a total influ-idiot who will turn literally anything into a chance to self-promote, and was busy reinventing himself as a parenting guru when his baby was a couple of months old because he had a new book to flog.

Woodchiponthewall · 17/04/2020 17:53

The sudden defence is heartening, good to know there’s plenty of decent people about. Of course he is good at self promotion, that’s his job which he is clearly very successful at. He’s got me and my family up and moving every day so I’ll not hear a word said against him!
You made a snide, unsubstantiated comment about his literacy, presumably because he is from a working class background and has an accent. You probably know you’ve embarrassed yourself a little bit, but it’s okay, live and learn eh?
Hope you get a shout out OP!

I find him very annoying on all things parenting, but he's great on the PE thing. He's styling himself as the nation's PE teacher, which is a wee bit cringey but he's going to donate a shed load so that's good too.
