I have four kids. Two middle ones have sen and go to SEN school. One child has severe needs, a disability SW, blue badge and has gone back to school full time this week. All of the kids are classed as vulnerable in the pandemic as I have two in SEN placements.
The SW and home link worker checked in with us in the first two weeks but not since. I guess that's because ds is in school and the focus is on him mainly.
However no one is checking in on dd. She is 5. School know our family situation. We didnt send back the form about key worker / vulnerable kids as it's not her SW. We couldnt double check as they sent it out at miday but wanted it back by 2pm on the same day so the school was closed by the time we checked patent mail.
She is a CIN. School know this as the SW in normal times checks in with her school for our CIN, TAF whatever meetings. All invulment is purely disability related. Not CP. But she is still a CIN. Totally off radar. That's ok for us, shes fine. Not getting the best home ed but happy, fed, clean, warm, loved etc.
I'm just wondering if everyone with a vulnerable child is having people keep in touch?
I guess why I'm asking is that in theory all of my kids are in that vulnerable group who should be in school, but only one school has them on radar. I think in dd case its budget as she should be on the SEN register too to many reasons but her needs are turned a blind too, due to budget, like so many others.
It suits me so i not complaining but that's three CIN children no one has seen now in a month. I'm not that's sure what the Gov wanted? Is there the possibility dd school dont know shes CIN or didnt record it? The SW phones them and like I saying told them.
