Exhausting, I think it’s just not having any time in the house without other people there (I didn’t get much anyway but DH was pretty good at taking them all out for a couple of hours at the weekend if i needed to recharge). The noise. The mess. The barrage of questions. The bickering. The movement (they move all.the.time).
I know it could be far worse, but I’m knackered Grin

Unescorted · 15/04/2020 20:18

send them out for a rematch....

woodencoffeetable · 15/04/2020 20:20

I'm missing my commute.
and the dc the muddy playing field and their friends.

Windyatthebeach · 15/04/2020 20:22

6 dc here. Exhausted..
Am only working 4 hours a week now.
Today was that day!!. Stuck in til next Wednesday now..
Sad
Have even opened my Xmas drink supply!!

steppemum · 15/04/2020 20:26

I WFH. I don't have astudy, I work on the dining room table, because usually it is quiet in the house during the day.

You have to walk through dining room to get to the kitchen.

No headspace at all.

their teens too, so pretty self sufficient and actually are amazing when I'm in zoom calls, just........ space.

I don't have a Christmas drink supply, that is obviously what I am doing wrong

2 under 3 here. Older one says mummy 500000 times a day, and the younger one wont nap anywhere but on me. I'm exhausted and my back is killing me. I would kill for a weekend sleepover at grandma's, me or the kids, I dont care which of us goes!

woodencoffeetable · 15/04/2020 20:32

I don't drink but sometimes wish I was.
the dc are generally good but yes, we need some time apart.

Soontobe60 · 15/04/2020 20:33

@katmarie
I’m a grandma and can wait for my grandson to come for a sleepover. I haven’t seen him for almost 5 weeks and it’s killing me. 😫

Pandoraslastchance · 15/04/2020 20:34

I keep hiding in my greenhouse for a quiet few minutes. It's the constant wall of noise that's driving me insane.

Florencenotflo · 15/04/2020 20:39

My mum and mother in law have already arranged a rota for having the kids once everything is relaxed, it's basically 4 days at each nanny's house and a week at home 😂 I think they are semi joking, but it is very sweet that they are missing them so much. And I am aware how lucky I am to have such lovely parents/in laws. I am also missing time to myself. Someone is always here, I'm even finding having DH here a bit claustrophobic! He's usually out at least 3 nights a week at either the gym or he works later one night. I catch up with all my crap tv and eat obscene amounts of chocolate.

katmarie · 15/04/2020 20:49

@soontobe60 my mum is desperately missing them too. We tend to all descend on her place on a saturday for organised chaos, so it's been very quiet there for them the last few weekends. She told me today shes moving all the grandkids in as soon as the lockdown ends. I told her to send them back when they're old enough to get a job!

Windyatthebeach · 15/04/2020 20:52

Sadly no gps at all here.
Lots of activities where we live though - can't wait to get out there!!
Dpuppy is enjoying 24/7 company...

freddiethegreat · 15/04/2020 20:56

Last week & again today we had the NHS letter to confirm DS(17) is in the shielding group. This means I can’t go to work & we are stuck in the tiny house. I cried. Work out of the home - even three days a week - was saving my sanity! Bye bye sanity. It was nice knowing you!

Spanneroo · 15/04/2020 20:56

Ahh that sounds amazing OP

I'm in a 2 bed flat (no garden) with a 5yo, 2yo and 3mo twins. The noise never stops and I am touched 100% of the time from 5:30am-8pm. What I wouldn't give to have the big kids run around in the garden, with the door shut behind them!

We are hoping we will be able to move soon as this was barely sustainable before the lockdown! I guess at least once the twins are older I can palm them off on DH for an hour or so on the weekends without them screaming about my boobs...

LilacTree1 · 15/04/2020 21:04

OP

The way you say “all the kids” makes me think you are the mother in the Radfords.

CarolineIngalls · 15/04/2020 21:08

So tired. I wish they would all go out. Sometimes the little ones are in bed, and DH and the big ones don't need my attention for up to 30 minutes in the evening. They need me right now. To try a video game (that they made). I am cheerful parent in charge of well being.

Fuck this.

Lemonpink88 · 15/04/2020 21:09

@Spanneroo wow you have your hands full! Good luck babe it cannot be easy for you xxx

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 15/04/2020 21:12

Oh god Spanneroo, my twins are 7 now but you have my every sympathy! Cannot imagine what it’s like especially with your older two 😩.

I’m desperate my space too. In fact, I’ve just been to aldi but went to the store slightly further away and look the long way round just to get a break from my kids 🙈.

CarolineIngalls · 15/04/2020 21:19

@Spanneroo we send you virtual wine and imaginary solitude.

VenusTiger · 15/04/2020 21:22

Yes it's tiring - trying to get only child busy without the constant "mommy, mommy, mommy..." or "look at this, look at this, look at this" is hard work - like summer holidays but with cabin fever. I adore my son, but yes, tiring it is. Also ttc for over a year and was 3 days late today so feeling really miserable and (secretly) pissed off Sad. Keep trying to look on the bright side and be grateful of course, which I am. I've also just eaten a chocolate fudge brownie so feel a bit better Grin

Spanneroo · 15/04/2020 21:22

@Chittychittyboomboom I had to take the babies to their vaccinations last Wednesday. Twenty minute round trip of silence while DH watched the big kids whilst WFH. It was amazing! Grin

Hoping we will be able to move from here soon, as it was supposed to be a temporary stop-gap!

Spanneroo · 15/04/2020 21:25

@VenusTiger I feel for you with an only at the moment. Mine don't stop talking but at least I can palm them off on each other. Every other day the big one has been doing "Skype drawing" with different school friends for an hour. It's been life-changing not having to pay any attention to the constant jabbering!
