Tired of the constant mess and noise

Grrrrr, it’s really getting to me today! I went out to do a fairly big shop earlier and was gone about an hour. Get back and DH and the two teen DC’s have made themselves lunch and the kitchen looks like a greasy cafe. Bacon sandwiches have been had and there is grease, butter, ketchup and mayo smeared all over the worktops. It looks like the crumbs from an entire loaf of bread have been scattered all over the floor. There are dirty plates and cutlery piled next to the sink awaiting putting in the dishwasher. Butter has been left out and not put back in the fridge.

DH has disappeared off “to work” and DC’s have gone to their bedrooms and it’s left to me to unpack all the shopping and then clear up their fucking mess!

Well fuck that, i’m going on strike! Who else has had it up to here with the mess??!!

Why is it up to you? Get their lazy arses downstairs and get them cleaning to your satisfaction!

TheEndIsBillNighy · 15/04/2020 14:20

How annoying that you cannot unpack because they’ve left the worktops a mess. I’d have been fuming! I’d definitely only get the frozen bits into the freezer and then make everyone come and tidy up before I did anything else!

Bringringbring12 · 15/04/2020 14:28

Don’t be a martyr OP

Call them down and ask them to tidy up. No drama.

Bringringbring12 · 15/04/2020 14:29

And text your DH that you’d appreciate he tidy up in future

Bringringbring12 · 15/04/2020 14:29

But whatever you do - don’t go around all grumpy and face like sucking lemons.

It will get you no where!

I totally understand...I'm really struggling to keep on top of housework...it's like trying to hold back the tide constantly

triedandtestedteacher · 15/04/2020 14:55

Ye there's no break from it. Constant eating and snacking and mess. I cleaned the kitchen last night after the day of snacking and meals. DH decides to eat at 9 pm and make himself an Indian banquet. Ive got pregnancy sickness atm had to go to bed early because the smell of food was making me gag. Told him I didn't want to get up to the smell of dirty dishes and old food cartons. Exactly what I got up to this morning

Bringringbring12 · 15/04/2020 16:49

@triedandtestedteacher

That is really not a good sign. Not at all.

triedandtestedteacher · 15/04/2020 17:03

@Bringringbring12 ye I wasn't impressed but felt to sick to have a go so I went back upstairs. He did clean it up then

willowmelangell · 15/04/2020 18:44

@Rollergirl11 So what has happened since? I really hope the dc are cleaning up their mess...
