How accurate is an expired pregnancy test?

I have a box of two tests in drawer, the expiry date says Feb last year - is it still worth using?

I'm really scared I might be pregnant and I don't know the first effing thing about babies!! Are GP services still doing urine tests?

GP surgeries are not taking in sample, the tests we have aren’t very sensitive anyway.

Order some new tests-boots, amazon, Superdrug all deliver. Amazon do next day. No one on MN, unless they work for the company, will be able to tell you how accurate your out of date tests are but I would be tempted to try one whilst waiting for a new test.
Ps no one knows the first thing about babies until they have one!
I hope you get the answer you want -good luck

Thank you. I don't want to be pregnant at this time of uncertainty. I'm 48 and never been pregnant before! I'm kind of freaking out. It just seems like the worst time. Am I even taking enough vitamins? I know you're supposed to take folic acid but that's about it. And I haven't been. I'm 3 days late, feel nauseous and bloated, is it too early to have those symptoms anyway? Have no idea how many weeks that makes me.

If Doctors aren't doing tests (and scans?) then it feels like being cast adrift. How are pregnant women coping?! I definitely need a hand hold.

There's no harm in taking the tests you've got. They would probably still give an accurate result. If you're still unsure, buy another test. If it's positive you should start taking folic acid.

Theres no harm in using the tests and seeing what they say? Smile

If you are pregnant you will need folic acid. Dont worry most pregnant women dont start taking it until after finding out they are pregnant.

Let us know what happens! I'm quite intrigued now.

Good luck! Flowers

I wouldn't trust the result they give. Can you get a First Response, sold in most supermarkets?

Hope you get the result you want
