Sporn klaxon - wanna see what I just pulled out of my chin?

Scratched a spot on my chin and felt something brush against my finger. Grabbed the mirror and saw the end of a monster hair poking out. Pulled it out and the damn thing just. Kept. Coming.

Here's the result 🤢🤢🤢

I once pulled one out of my shin which was about two inches long. Is there something about them being under the skin which allows them to grow beyond what they would have done if they’d surfaced?
