I realise the contents are individual, but if you've had one, did you get much fruit and veg? Trying to work out whether they'd work for us or not. Thanks

6.30pm and the box hasn't arrived with my parents yet. DPD says it hasn't been delivered to them from Morrisons yet so the chance of it getting it today are quite slim i think. Sad

I’ve had 2 of the vegetarian boxes and they were almost identical. Happy with them overall and thought it was good value for money but was disappointed to not get any fruit and had a lot of meat substitutes which I don’t normally eat a lot of, would have preferred more fresh veg instead.

SconNotScone · 14/04/2020 19:53

My inlaws got:
Two pack of kitchen roll
4 pack of Andrex

3 small tins of Heinz beans
A 500g pack of penne pasta
Large bag of onions
Large bag of potatoes

First one, we got potatoes, carrots, onions, and two heads of broccoli.

Second one we got new potatoes, carrots, onions and a cabbage.

BlackeyedSusan · 15/04/2020 14:36

Two heads of broccoli! Great.

I think we are going to alternate with the fruit and veg box we got from a local shop and share resources between us.

BlackeyedSusan · 20/04/2020 09:47

There is a Ramadan box too. We are considering it as it will add variety to the bog standard boxes.

Easilyanxious · 20/04/2020 12:04

We had one don't remember getting fruit in it though but ok if your stuck in
Not sure why they send such a big bag of onions when a net of 3 would do , and would be nice if they gave a bag of apples or bananas so some kind of fruit in there
But as a stop gap or if unable to go out they do the job

Bumbleb79 · 20/04/2020 14:26

I was meant to get it on the 16th but it arrived today. I had ordered the veg box and this is what came in it.
Milk , butter , cottage cheese , cheddar cheese , bread , onion , carrot , potato , cucumber , cabbage , meat free burgers, meat free mince , meat free sausage , pasta sauce , uncle Ben basmati rice , baked beans , mixed beans , cream of tomato, kitchen roll, toilet rolls.

Re: Riverford- we tried them but they weren't taking on new customers couple of weeks ago, that might have changed.

Orangeblossom78 · 20/04/2020 14:36

M&S were doing a fruit delivery on the same page as their other box as well I noticed, looked quite expensive though

IamJackFmsmysterywoman · 20/04/2020 20:07

My Morrisons’s food box has not arrived. 😖 Was due today and have heard diddly squat. E mailed them and had an automatic reply saying they would get back to me within 5-10 days. I am a bit sad and really quite hungry.

WhatHaveIFound · 21/04/2020 10:52

IamJackFmsmysterywoman They do get back to you quicker than 5-7 days though i did resort to using their web form, email, FB and Twitter!

No explanation as to why my parent's box went missing and they couldn't redeliver until 5 days later. Probably not what you're wanting to hear. Sorry.

WhatHaveIFound · 21/04/2020 10:57

I don't know if anyone here in in the elderly group but i found that Morrison's Doorstep Deliveries worked really well.

I still had to phone up for my parents as they're terrible at that sort of thing. There's a list of 45 items online but you can request other stuff which they can add if they have them available in the store.

IamJackFmsmysterywoman · 21/04/2020 12:01

E mail response today from Morrisons, so quite speedy given the situation. They could see that my box did not dispatch and have ordered me another one but delivery will be from 24/04 onwards ☹️. I suppose lack of food will help to balance out the gazillion calories in the wine that I seem to find myself drinking every night.
Woman cannot live by wine alone- although I seem to be giving it a really go these days.

IamJackFmsmysterywoman · 21/04/2020 12:03

FFS- ( piss off phone ) a really good go !

SushiGo · 21/04/2020 12:07

We had mango in ours and some veg but no other fruit.

We ordered a fruit and veg box from a local restaurant that's currently closed and that covers the gaps.

Would really recommend contacting any and all local shops to see who now delivers and what they are offering.

But I hope your box arrives soon Jack.

IamJackFmsmysterywoman · 21/04/2020 13:00

Thanks. Am currently staring intently at my flip flop and imagining stir frying it in some garlic and chilli oil ......

in case useful for any of you

TheBouquets · 22/04/2020 20:53

I looked at the Morrisons boxes earlier today. I could not have ordered any of the boxes because I have food allergies. I saw a vegetarian box but it have several items which would harm me.

I had called a pharmacy to ask if I could have my prescriptions from there but was told that I could not because I am not a regular at their pharmacy.

Obtaining food to suit all my medical problems is always difficult but in the present situation it is nearly impossible.

WhatHaveIFound · 23/04/2020 10:19

TheBouquets If you're close to a Booths they do a gluten free box. Or is it a different allergy?

Booths boxes for those lucky enough to be in their delivery area.

TheBouquets · 23/04/2020 13:08

@WhatHaveIFound Thank you for that information. I am unfortunately 100s of miles away from the areas mentioned on Booth's website.
I do manage to eat some gluten free foods but have various other allergies too.
Thanks for trying to help me
