If I make a file in Libre Office, and then email it to myself

So I can open it on my phone, is there a way to turn it into a Word document? So I can then upload it into a group for other people to be able to open it?

Several of the Save As options are variations on Word documents. Try it out first though, it's not perfect and sometimes screws up the formatting...

One of my Rainbows was interested in doing something before we suspended meetings so I thought I could have a go at adapting it (using Libre Office) then upload it into our group in case she does fancy having a go but I'm never sure if folks will be able to open the files from Libre Office ok.

You can open Libre Office files with MS Word just fine. Just make sure the file is saved as .doc or .docx

Make sure you use a font that other people will also have on their computers (e.g. times, arial) especially if you aren't using Windows.
