I've been watching really old Law & Order, can anyone explain something to me?

Obviously not been paying much attention to it, because I'm getting characters muddled up. Carmichael is a lawyer? Was she also a detective at one point or is there another dark haired detective who looks really like her?

I can't actually remember any female detectives. But Carmichael was one of a series of dark haired assistant district attorneys that worked with Jack McCoy.

She's in the Rizzoli and Isles adaption, playing a detective there?

Also, where are you watching it? I've been wanting to watch the earlier series!!

It's on 5USA all day, I'm leaving it on in the background. It's also not in chronological order at all!

Googled Olivia Benson and it's not her.

There was Nina Cassady (with Ed) - detective with long dark hair?

Abby Carmichael. She worked with ADA McCoy. Never a detective.

Jill Hennessy played the ADA working with Jack McCoy (and had an affair with him too!) She was never a detective.
I watched the really early series with Michael Moriarty as the DA and Chris Noth (Mr Big in Sex & the City) as the main detective. Loved it!

There was Nina Cassady - detective with long dark hair?

That's who it was!

They are similar looking, aren't they? Is it just me?
