My ex lives 3 hours away. We meet up in Leeds for a swap over. After the 3 weeks he is wanting to see his 12 year old son. We have a non-court private arrangement. He sees his son regularly and for most school holidays. He has moved from a multi occupancy house into a private flat with the last of his stuff on Tuesday and will have been fully isolated WFH by next Wednesday. I have no issues with him seeing our son but there’s no clear information online about long distance driving. Believe me I have scoured the Internet. They say that children can see their non resident parents which is fine by us but since we’re 3 Hours apart we have to both travel to meet up. Can we do this or is it classed as non essential driving?? This isn’t clear anywhere. Or I’m missing something?

I think as long as it’s a necessary journey, which it is, it doesn’t make any difference how many miles you cover.
