If you have an overactive immune system, do you feel vulnerable?

There I was feeling quite comfortable a few weeks ago, I'm youngish, generally healthy but my immune system over-reacts, I have several allergies, a couple of autoimmune conditions and mild asthma. I thought my over active immune system would kick in and fight Covid and apparently it does but then it doesn't know when to stop and can create a Cytokine storm which is the thing that causes the damage. There doesn't seem to be a lot known about it.

Yes. Allergies ( drug, and bog standard hayfever but DD is anaphylactic)
Asthma
Dermographia? Mild though,
May be normal for all I know, react really badly to insect bites without going to anaphylaxis though...

Hope they work out some more information soon.

To be fair I don't think we are the worst overreactors..still worrying though.

This is why I’ve been trying to protect DD2 from getting it. Other than that I feel all I can do is inform any doctors who treat her and hope they are well informed enough to know what to look for.

I'm on an interleukin-17 inhibitor and do wonder if I get cv, whether it would be of any help to fight it.

Thanks for the article Holdmylobster I think awareness seems to be key.

I'm basically a walking autoimmune condition and I'm quite worried about this :( Useful to have those articles though.
